Tournament Details 8U Tournament Rules & Information (Click Here) Location: Everywhere,USA Entry Fee: Tournament Date(s): Deadline to Enroll: 2/10/2007 Important Notes: The 8u Coach Pitch: The 8u Machine pitch Speed of machine is 33 to 35 mph. This can vary per inning. A coach can one time per inning adjust the machine. The coach pitcher may only give instructions to the batters. Machine pitch each coach feeds the machine & same on instruction to batter only There will be 1 base coach for 1st and 1 base coach for 3rd. On defense there will be no coaches on playing field. There can be one coach on one sideline giving defensive instructions. On defense you must stop the lead runner before time can be called On over throws if the ball stay in live areas, the runners can advance at risk. (the lead runner still needs to be stop) Each player may receive up to 5 pitches. On the 5th pitch if the player fouls off she will receive 1 more pitch. If the ball hits the machine or coach on a hit. It is dead ball, batter goes to 1st and runners that would be force to move will advance. On a throw back in and the ball hits the machine then dead ball and the umpires would make judgement on the runners advanement. On a throw back in and the pitching coach has not gotten off the playing field, which they are suppose to. The runners are froze and return back to bases.(no advancement)This could lead to a coach being ejected. Coaches after any hit machine or coach pitch, Get off the field There are no walks, stealing, or bunting. Exception in machine pitch teams can bunt or slap hit. Each team may bat a maximum of 10 players per inning unless 3 outs are made. Up to 11 players may be in the lineup. . 8U rules: Exception: If when the home team comes to bat in the last inning and is down by more than 10 runs, the coach may elect not to take his turn at bat or to bat. B. The offense teams must announce 10 batter.
