Tournament Date(s): August 1-7, 2011:

All age groups, including the 8U teams, will be coming in on Monday August 1, 2011. We will start playing games at 4PM Monday Aug 1st 2011. Check-in for coaches will be Monday morning from 9AM-11AM. Opening Ceremonies will be from 11:30am-1:30PM.
A team representative MUST check in at Pepper-Geddings Complex from 9-11:00am.

They must fill out a survey, give a cell number, pick up bracket, water and pick activities. Teams must have 2 copies of a signed WFC Roster. One will be turned in and the other will be signed and returned. Then during all WFC World Series games the head coach must have the WFC signed roster along with copies of birth certificates & team insurance in the dugout throughout all WFC games played.
Coaches remember failure to turn in a signed WFC roster can lead to disqualification. Judgment Calls cannot be protested. All protests are $200.00 cash per request.
After a team turns in a WFC signed roster at check in, no players can be added. Brackets will be available at check in. Also example: No players can be on a 14u team roster & play on that team then play on & be on another age group team roster in the same event. This will get Both teams DQ.

Social gathering will be at Pepper-Geddings on Monday Aug 1st, 2011 from 11:30am -1:30pm. Teams will be announced during fellowship gathering. It is a MUST for teams to confirm attendance and be there no later than 11:00am

To ensure that all Opening Ceremonies operate smoothly WFC MUST know if your team will be participating in any of the following Ceremony Events.

Players and parents will be separated at the field C gate to allow for proper team line-up. Each team MUST get on the fields ASAP, then the following activities can start.

Parade of Teams and Team trading pin exchange
Throwing out freebies
Sweepstakes for bags with coupons, and local information from surrounding businesses

We will no longer have the gift exchange as we have in the past.

We would like to remind all teams that you may preorder your WFC World Series T-shirts to ensure that you get the sizes that you want. The price is $20.00 each and may be ordered in sizes Youth Medium through Adult XXXXXL. Any shirts over XLarge are $23.00 All preorders may be picked up at opening ceremonies and paid for at that time. We will have t-shirts available at the tournament on a first come first serve basis.

Teams are allowed ONE team cooler. Also No grills or grilling at the Sports Complex.

WFC does require that all parents, fans, coaches and players are on their best behavior while attending WFC World Series Events. WFC will not tolerate any unpartisan like behavior. Anyone who shows that they cannot behave in a proper manner will be asked to leave the complex immediately or the police will be called. Coaches please understand that sometimes there are calls that you will not agree with all the time.

WFC will not be providing water coolers in the dugouts this year. In the past we have found that people will put their hands in the water, take out the ice or simply remove the coolers. This year at check in each team’s representative will receive 1 case of bottled water.

Teams please clean up dugouts after you use them.

Teams will not be seeded by pool play into double elimination. After many years of doing the WFC World Series we know seeding does not work. The worse thing that happens in seeding is when two teams say from NJ that have played each other all year, then because of seeding start out there first World Series bracket game playing each other. This means for sure each team will have four different teams to play.
Pool games will be 1 hour & 20 mins. drop dead. But for many reasons a winner will be reverted back to the previous inning. There again the pool games have no meaning in the bracket play or draw.
With this in mind, before bracket games there will still be a coin flip at home plate before the game.
The Home team is the official scorer. It is each team’s responsibility to turn in bracket game scores.

Regular Bracket Games are 1 hour & 20 mins.

Championship Games & if games are 2 hour time limit or 6 inning for the 8u & 10u bracket or run rule 12, 10, 8
Championship Games & if games are 2 hour time limit or 7 inning for the 12u ,14u,16,18u,24u brackets or run rule 12, 10, 8

Coaches remember failure to turn in a signed WFC roster can lead to disqualification.

The WFC A Class World Series schedule will be posted roughly by July 25th 2011. The schedule will be as follows: pool play starts Monday Aug. 1st at 4:00pm with most teams playing either two games a day or one game for one day. Some age groups Wed. morning bracket play will start, while others will start Thurs. Based on the weather, amount of teams, & many more reasons different age groups could have Championships on Thur., Fri, Sat, or Sunday.

Everyone should realize the schedule is subject to change. By teams dropping out, or adding teams, due to rain, lights not working, field damage, games going extra inning, mistake made in schedule, and many more reasons .EVERYONE SHOULD CHECK SCHEDULE DAILY BEFORE & DURING THE WORLD SERIES .Because of this, teams need to expect the possibility of late games on any night and tournament format can be changed.

In case of inclement weather all coaches must come to the fields to check in with WFC staff for any updated game schedules. Please do not call or go to the website for any updates because the WFC staff will be at the complexes with schedule updates.
